Nicoya Peninsula
Costa Rica
A trip to Costa Rica isn’t complete without an escape to the beach. Fortunately, there is no shortage to choose from, with both the Pacific and Caribbean coasts on offer.
The beaches on both sides are sandy, palm-lined postcard stuff, but the difference is the sea and accommodation.
On the Pacific side, the Guanacaste province is ideal for active types, with its superb surfing, horse riding, snorkelling, and even windsurfing on mountain lakes. The Nicoya Peninsula is home to isolated and rugged beaches, nature reserves and quaint rural towns.
The southern tip of the Nicoya peninsula has grown in popularity with travelers and has some stylish, exclusive hotels. Montezuma and Santa Teresa are two emerging hot spots that enjoy a perpetual spring-like climate.
