Fazenda da Lagoa
Fazenda da Lagoa is a luxury beach retreat on the coast of Bahia, 25 miles south of Ilhéus.
Accessed by a short boat trip across the freshwater lagoon, the accommodation consists of 14 stylish, contemporary bungalows scattered around the property and overlooking a white sandy beach washed by the Atlantic Ocean.
Each spacious bungalow comes with a wooden deck, large hammock, gauze-netted bed, air-conditioning, DVD/CD player and private bathroom with open-air shower. Facilities include a swimming pool with a pool bar, a steam bath and a well-stocked library. A range of massages and spa treatments is available, including unique local therapies using mineral-rich rainforest clay.
Lunches and suppers featuring traditional Brazilian cuisine and the freshest local seafood are served by the pool or in the main restaurant. Activities include trekking along the Maroin River, kayaking on the lagoon, surf lessons and biking. Deep-sea fishing, horse riding, golf and visits to local farms can also be arranged. Alternatively, you can just relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings or wander barefoot along the beach that stretches for miles.
