Jeremy | StirlingMeant to get back to you y'day with more about our trip. It was really great, lots of magical moments, and the boys all coped much better with the travel/game drives than I had feared they might. They loved it. Ant's Nest was the highlight, really - they really make you feel special. Nothing was too much trouble, so if we were out on a ride and the boys got tired, a jeep would appear to whisk them back to the lodge...meals whenever/wherever etc, game drives timed to suit baby sleeps etc...very charming couple too, and the lodge itself is just gorgeous. Jaci's was brilliant, too, but very different. We kind of came to really enjoy it by the end, and the game was fabulous (saw a lion stalking/killing impala, which was sooo exciting). Tessa and Ant were a very hard act to follow - especially as they do riding, which the boys really loved. Essentially, it felt like Ant's Nest is all about doing stuff together with your kids, whereas Jaci's is all about doing stuff as adults while your kids are looked after. And I guess we're more a do-stuff-together kinda family. At Jaci's the tents are quite far from the lodge so you use babysitters, whereas at Ant's Nest you're within earshot of the kids rooms. That was quite nice, in a way, at Jaci's, cos the kids got to have bedtime with the lovely babysitter from a different culture etc. We had a great time at Jaci's, really did, especially because our guide was incredibly good with the kids. The staff there really seem to love kids, too. Anyway, a huge thanks to you again for an absolutely magical trip. It feels a long time ago now, as I stare at the frozen mist outside my study window, but it is something that will stay with us forever. Also, the children loved the rucksacks - great presents, too...sun-block, good; those playing books, good; monkeys, good, good, good - Joe wore his attached to his belt straps pretty much all weekend. Lovely idea - great ruck-sack, too.
