| DAY 2 | Day at leisure and possible visit by Telferiquo cable car to Pichingcha volcano, a trip to Mindo cloud forest or a day at Cotopaxi National Park with spectacular views of Andes Mountains > Overnight at Swissotel |
| DAY 3 | Flight to Galapagos > Board La Pinta yacht > Arrive at North Seymour Island to see observe the colonies of blue footed boobies, frigate birds and swallow tailed gulls > Overnight La Pinta |
| DAY 4 | Disembark at Punta Espinoza (Fernandina Island) & Isabela Island to see Marine Iguanas, sea lions, penguins and the flightless cormorant > Naturalist’s briefing > Overnight La Pinta |
| DAY 5 | Disembark at Point Cormorant to see flamingos > Snorkelling or ride on glass-bottom boat > Afternoon visit to Post Office Bay to learn about adventures of pirates and whalers > Panga (inflatable boat) ride to islets to observe Sea Turtles, Rays, Sea Lions and the Galapagos penguin > Overnight La Pinta |
| DAY 6 | Disembark at Rabida Island (wet landing) and observe large colonies of sea lions, marine iguanas, mockingbirds, yellow warblers and several species of Darwin’s Finches > snorkel from the beach to the green saltbush where at times Greater Flamingos migrate>keep an eye out for dolphins>visit Las Bachas on Santa Cruz Island where the sand is made of powdered coral, a favorite site for nesting sea turtles>look out for Sally Lightfoot crabs which can be found in abundance on the lava rocks along the water's edge, and observe Flamingoes, hermit crabs, black necked stilts, and whimbrels> Overnight La Pinta |
| DAY 7 | Visit the highlands of Santa Cruz Island, an Scalesia forest and the twin pit craters geology formation> Go to the Charles Darwin Research Station and see the giant tortoise pens, an impressive giant prickly-pear cactus forest and many land birds> stroll along the main street of Puerto Ayora> Overnight La Pinta |
| DAY 8 | See and feel the volcanic origin of Galapagos at Sullivan Bay on James Island> take a panga ride or go snorkeling> Wet land on Puerto Egas where most of the landscape is tuff-stone layers and lava flows> see land and marine birds, marine and Galápagos fur seals> swim and snorkel on the beach> Overnight La Pinta |
| DAY 9 | Boat ride along Cerro Brujo’s white coralline beach > Highlands visit to see Chatham Mockingbird & Chatham Lava Lizard (endemic to island, and this was the first island in September 1835 that Charles Darwin set foot on) > Overnight La Pinta |
| DAY 10 | 0 Disembark at San Cristobal Island and visit the breeding centre for the tortoises before taking a 45min bus ride to the airport > Flight to Quito > Overnight Swissotel |
| DAY 11 | 1 Transfer to Quito airport for your return flight home. |

| VISA REQUIREMENTS British nationals are issued with a visit visa on arrival which is valid for up to 90 days. Visit extensions of a further 90 days can be obtained through the local immigration authorities. Overstaying without permission from the immigration authorities is an offence and will result in a substantial fine and deportation. Your passport must have a minimum validity of six months. |
| HEALTH Vaccinations are not required, however it is recommended that vaccinations for Yellow Fever, Typhoid and Cholera are up-to-date.The following vaccines may also be recommended for your travel to Temperate South America - Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Malaria, and Rabies. It is always advised that your tetanus is up to date. NB For expert opinion on all of these diseases and any more that are relevant for travel to this region please always consult your GP or doctor. |
