La Residencia
Set in the attractive hilltop village of Deià, between the sea and the rugged Sierra Tramuntana, La Residencia is one of the best hotels in the Mediterranean.
The hotel consists of two restored manor houses from the 16th and 17th centuries, with modern additions built in the same traditional style using the characteristic local honey-coloured stone.
The overall property is like a small, self-contained village on several different levels, linked together by terraces and twisting pathways, and surrounded by 13 acres of landscaped gardens with stunning views of the coast. The 63 rooms and suites are individually furnished and decorated in a simple but elegant style with natural tones and white bed linen.
Two restaurants offer refined or informal dining, and there is also a pool-side bar in the summer season. There is a large outdoor pool, two floodlit tennis courts, a sauna, steamroom, indoor pool and a spa offering treatments including reflexology. Activities such as yoga, sailing and guided walks through the beautiful landscapes of olive, almond and citrus groves can be organised.
