Ski By Boat In The Arctic

Norway

Fly deep inside the Arctic Circle to the Norwegian coastal town of Tromso, and from there transfer to a brand new luxury ski lodge.

By night stay in comfort at the lodge, and by day board a specially designed 35ft boat to reach some of Europe's finest - and guaranteed virgin - powder slopes.

After a tough ski-tour up one side of the peak with the help of the resident professional mountain guides, the views from the summit are quite simply breathtaking, dominated by the Lyngen Alps to the northwest, the inland mountains of Troms County to the east, and the glistening Arctic Ocean.

After admiring the views, the descent that follows all the hard work is well worth it. Think exhilarating 4,000ft ski descents in virgin powder to the water’s edge and the waiting boat which has rounded the point of the fjord to meet you at the shoreline.

Back at the lodge enjoy a traditional sauna or outdoor hot tub to soothe aching limbs, before settling in by the fire in the cosy library followed by a delicious supper.

In the summer months, the landscape is transformed and the lodge provides an ideal base for a variety of activities including fjord safaris, salmon and halibut fishing, canoeing, trekking and glacier tours.
