Quality Hotel Hunderfossen
If you have a keen interest in trolls, Quality Hotel Hunderfossen is the place to stay.
It has a restaurant whose ceiling is held up by six giant trolls, with walls decorated with scenes from Norwegian fairy tales, and is next door to an amusement park which is full of... more trolls. More likely though, your interest is in bobsleighing and luge, in which case Hunderfossen is also a good place to stay, being conveniently located just a few hundred metres from the Olympic bobsleigh track and 14km from downtown Lillehammer. The hotel occupies a traditional wooden chalet-style building in peaceful, natural surroundings. Accommodation is functional rather than luxurious, with 40 rooms in the main building and 60 cabins scattered around the grounds. All the rooms are tastefully decorated and have high speed internet access. Facilities include the aforementioned restaurant, plus another non-troll-themed restaurant, a bar, sauna, solarium and gym.
