Villa Mangiacane
The property and its original Renaissance frescoes fell into disrepair but have now been painstakingly restored to their former splendour.
The main villa houses eight suites, each with a frescoed private terrace overlooking the rolling Tuscan countryside, while a neighbouring farmhouse has been converted to house an additional 20. Antiques and contemporary art decorate the building’s elegant interiors.
Facilities include a swimming pool and small spa offering a variety of treatments and massages, a gym, a library and a large terrace from which the Duomo and bell-tower of Florence can be seen on a clear day. The estate’s 500-year-old tradition of winemaking has also been revived, and its Chianti Classico and olive oil complement the restaurant’s outstanding Tuscan cuisine.
