The Atlantis
Completely restored in 2009, the delightful Atlantis was the first hotel to open on the island’s east coast back in 1883. Today, the property has the same great views over the rugged Atlantic coastline and is the ideal place to relax away from the more popular west coast.
Located in the quaint fishing village of Tent Bay, this beach-chic boutique hotel has been immaculately restored by the current owners to bring a modern twist to a traditional Barbadian building.
10 over-sized suites directly overlook the ocean’s surf and all have been tastefully decorated with brightly coloured colonial style furniture. Amenities include iPod docks and wireless internet and there is a swimming pool on the property, much needed given the strong rip currents which plague this part of the coast.
The restaurant serves delicious Caribbean cuisine in a stylish setting and the chef takes pride in creating menus using fresh local ingredients. The hotel also has a bar with a very good wine selection.
