These are ten of our all-time favourite rooms with views that we will never tire of! How do you like your views? From sunrises over deep gorges and flat plateaus, to long drawn-out sunsets casting long shadows along the beach, often the most memorable aspects of travelling are the views. Whether you're staying in valleys or on mountains, near volcanoes or cliffs, inland or by the sea, there are hotels with just about every imaginable view possible. These are ten of our room with a view favourites that we will never tire of!

 

Sarara in Kenya

The beautifully designed Sarara camp has views over a natural swimming pool and waterhole where elephants come and drink, and there are unrivalled outlooks of the Mathews Mountains beyond. The camp has six luxury sleeping tents, each with its own flush loo and open-air bush shower, comfortable beds with quality bed linen. Walking excursions with local Namunyak community game scouts guide you spot lions, leopards, and African wild dog.

 

Grand Hotel Timeo in Sicily

The Grand Hotel Timeo is directly in front of the ancient Greek Theatre, with views looking out over this, and out across the a Eastern coast of Sicily and towards Mount Etna and beyond. Rooms here are elegantly decorated with an Italian feel; most have terraces or balconies, and the Presidential Suite even has a summerhouse on its expansive terrace, along with a lounge, dining room and small hydro-massage swimming pool.

 

Qasr al Sarab in Abu Dhabi

Situated deep in the dunes of the extraordinary Empty Quarter, the largest sand sea in the world where sand dunes rise hundreds of feet into the air, every room at the Qasr al Sarab has fantastic views. Besides exploring the amazing surroundings, the resort also has a huge infinity pool overlooking a valley and wadi with Arabian oryx, a spa, yoga sessions, cooking classes and tennis on floodlit courts.

 

Amangiri in Utah

The Amangiri is located in Canyon Point, Southern Utah, close to the border with Arizona. Surrounded by lunar like landscapes of deep canyons and towering plateaus as far as the eye can see, the resort looks out towards the Grand Staircase - Escalante National Monument. The resort is set around a swimming pool with spectacular views, with facilities including an Aman Spa, fitness centre and yoga pavilion.

 

Huvafen Fushi in the Maldives

This beautiful resort occupies an entire small island, with villas built along the beach and on stilts over the shallow lagoon waters. All of the villas have freshwater plunge pools with private sundecks and daybeds, as well as Bose sound systems with iPod docking stations. Huvafen Fushi is one of the most luxurious resorts in the Maldives, with what is billed as 'the world's first underwater spa', along with a large infinity-edge swimming pool, water-sports centre, PADI-certified dive centre, yoga pavilion and gym. Other activities include dolphin-watching or island-hopping trips, and sunset fishing on a traditional dhoni.

 

Southern Ocean Lodge, Australia

Southern Ocean Lodge is located on Kangaroo Island off the south coast, not far from Adelaide. The hotel is set on a ridge offering outstanding views over crashing breakers and the ocean beyond. A fresh and contemporary design runs throughout the hotel, with suites featuring sunken lounges, and dramatic glass walled bathrooms. Food is superb, championing the best of a foodie region, and there are daily changing activities from sunrise sea lion safaris to stargazing.

 

Jade Mountain, St Lucia

Built into a mountain, Jade Mountain has spectacular views over the Pitons and Caribbean Sea. Even better? The entire fourth wall is missing from all of the rooms giving uninterrupted views. Rooms are decorated in Caribbean style with modern touches such as iPod docks, jacuzzi baths, and plunge pools set at the edge of the suites. The whole hotel is designed to harmonise with nature, and the small restaurant serves mouth-watering cuisine.

 

Six Senses Yao Noi, Thailand

On the island of Koh Yao Noi between Phuket and Krabi, the Six Senses Hideaway Yao Noi is set in 24 acres of tropical forest, overlooking a private beach and the warm waters of the Andaman Sea and the sheer limestone islands that dot the bay. The hotel's private pool villas have a private infinity-edged pool and sundecks, fantastic views over the bay, and private butlers.

 

Hotel Mirador in Mexico

For truly breath-taking views over Copper Canyon in Mexico, Hotel Mirador is perched on the canyon's edge, surrounded by pine trees on the upper slopes of the canyon walls and the best location of any hotel in the area. The hotel itself has fireplaces in each room, decorated with Mexican fabrics and artefacts, plus each room also has a private terrace from where you can enjoy the sweeping views over the canyon for spectacular sunrises.

 

360 Leti in India

Seclusion as it should be, with nothing but panoramic views and five hours' drive between you and the nearest town, the 360 Leti has spectacular sweeping views for miles. Accommodation here consists of en-suite cottages with extremely comfortable beds and the finest Indian linen. Each room has a wood burning stove for winter months, and every cottage has its own private sit-out with two sun loungers. There are several dining options, each with floor to ceiling glass, enabling delightful views at all times.
