Family Adventure Holidays

Thrilling adventures don't have to stop as soon as the kids arrive. At Original Travel we pride ourselves on being able to make even the most action packed holiday totally family friendly. After all, sometimes it's not only the children who can't sit still for five minutes.

Ranching in Arizona

White Stallion Ranch aims to get children off their iPhones and into the saddle. It's a learning experience with a twist and offers the children miles and miles of Arizona sized freedom. The family, who have worked the land for over 50 years, have carefully blended the traditional culture of dude ranching with the top notch service of a premium hotel. The rugged mountains and cactus have brought Hollywood filmmakers to the ranch for over 70 years and creature comforts fit for a movie star are always close to hand.

The sky's the limit when it comes to activities at White Stallion Ranch and whether your cowboy heroics are already up to John Wayne standard, or they are more fictional like Woody from Toy Story, White Stallion Ranch caters for all standards of rider. From horse riding to hiking to rodeo and rock climbing there will never be a dull moment for parents and children alike. We highly recommend taking the afternoon off from the children and riding into the wilderness for some delicious eats like beer and Cheetos, or wine and cheese, or both.

Crocodile lagoons and white water rafting in Mexico

Perfect for culture vulture families wanting beautiful Mexican sunshine and beaches but with an adventurous twist. The immersive experience begins in the foodie capital of Mexico, Oaxaca, and then moves onto the coast. Children are offered the opportunity to participate in artisan workshops including puppet making and local market tours. Excursions to the Monte Alban ruins are followed by surf lessons, white water rafting, sea turtle conservation and a visit to a crocodile lagoon. How's that for action-packed?

Even the bounciest boys and girls need time to rest (and most importantly, you do too) and we highly recommend the Rosewood Mayakoba for some serious beach action. The white powdery sand and hotel spa is the perfect place to recharge the batteries. Did we mention that families are heartily welcomed at the Rosewood; there is a complimentary Kid's Club for children aged 4 - 12 years old. There's even dressing gown and slippers for the children.

Zip wiring and leopard spotting in Rajasthan

If you want the children totally spellbound a trip to India will stretch their curiosity and imagination. What better way to earn brownie points with the family than bringing Rudyard Kipling's Jungle Book to life? Rajasthan is super family friendly and teenagers will love zip wiring over the Mehrangarh Fort. As you glide over the myriad of fortresses, lakes and desert you'll be treated to the most exclusive of views.

Next stop, leopards. Jawai Leopard Camp in the Arvalli Hills pioneers a new age of camping in India. The 1930s interiors are both authentic and glamorous and the camp is the best place in India to catch sight of an elusive leopard. Teenagers will love getting to grips with the camera equipment that the owners lend to their guests and mums will be indulged at the camp's spa.

Round off your trip charging into the distance on horseback - how's that for adventurous heroics? The elegant Rohet Garh palace near Jodhpur has one of the finest stables of Mawari horses in the country.
