    Deep inside the Arctic Circle in Finnish Lapland, Father Christmas spends the year listening to the wishes of children from all over the world and preparing to grant their Christmas wishes – if they’ve been good, mind you.

    For a few short weeks in December, when the sun barely rises above the horizon, Father Christmas leaves his mountain home because of the mid-winter cold and spends time in some of the local villages. This is the only time of year when it is possible for non-elves to meet him, and adventurous children can travel from far and wide to do so, accompanied by their parents.
