Travel things to do before I die

There’s so much more to explore I don’t know where to start! At the moment, I’d love to visit the Mayan ruins across Latin America, Egypt to see the pyramids, the Easter islands… the list goes on.

Best moment

Visiting Morocco, as soon as I got off the plane I was thrust straight into haggling mode to get a taxi only to find out I’d completely confused the currency and had the cheapest taxi of my life. When we stopped off outside Djemaa el-fna I had a quick orange juice and took in the busy hive of activity; the make shift ‘dentists’, monkeys, snake charmers. Incredible.

In contrast, the sheer elegance of Venice has made it one of the most magical places I’ve ever visited. Travelling through the winding canals by vaporetti (gondolas were out of my strict budget) taking in the sights and sounds, visiting Lido, riding around in a ‘bike car’ – not the most stylish way to get around – and wandering around the almost infinite passages finding new gems hidden around every corner. It’s an experience I’ll never forget.

Worst moment

Getting totally lost on the way to my first riad in Marrakech, if it hadn’t been for a helpful local boy coming to my aid (for a price) I would have been searching for weeks!
