I’m in love with the buzz of big cities – Budapest, Beirut, Barcelona (there is clearly a B theme going on, Berlin is next!) and New York are top of my list. For down time nothing can beat being by the sea – Cyprus where my family lives and Croatia always have the desired effect on me.
Travel things I want to do before I die
Take a long and lazy road trip through France and Italy, try sashimi for breakfast at the fish market in Tokyo, fly down the Skeleton Coast in Namibia, take a year out to explore Latin America and Australia, photograph Petra in Jordan.
Best moments
Dog sledding in the Arctic Circle in -35 degrees, bargaining in the souqs of Morocco for bits and bobs that I still cherish and wear, sipping wine on the private beach of Villa Milocer in Montenegro without a soul in sight, sailing in the Swedish Archipelago during Midsummer, sleeping under the stars in the desert 20 kms from Algeria.
Worst moments
Trekking in the High Atlas mountains, not a problem in itself but in 45 degree heat it was a mistake! Getting to a remote island in Greece, which took 16 hours and each and every transport method. Being told off by some very angry looking men with guns in Tanzania for being on ‘military territory’.
