Most of Africa… the continent is so diverse and its beauty surprises me every time I return. Also the souks in Syria and the markets in Hong Kong (yes… I am a shopper).
Travel things I want to do before I die
Experience the landscape and desert in Namibia… although I would worry that I wouldn’t be able to get my hands on the number of camera memory cards required to satisfy my obsession with photography.
Explore Asia… I’ve never been.
I’ve toyed with the idea of attempting to conquer Everest but get seem to get cold feet (metaphorically only, so far). There are so many other things that I still want to do and I think these should come first…!
Best moments
Sleeping out under the stars almost anywhere in Africa… you can’t beat the sounds of the bush… raw Africa at its best.
Chimpanzee trekking in western Tanzania was pretty awesome, with the alpha male beetling past me so closely that I felt his hair on my leg.
Worst moments
Not being able to get across to one of the islands in the Great Barrier Reef due to low cloud coverage (helicopters can’t fly in this), and having to spend a long and miserable night in a motel as a result.
