DESTINATION OVERVIEW
Egypt is obviously famous for its extraordinary heritage from the ancient world: the pyramids at Giza, the Sphinx, and the temples of Luxor and Abu Simbel are among the world’s great cultural attractions. On top of its Pharaonic history, the country has Greek, Roman and Islamic treasures to explore in Alexandria and Cairo, plus numerous historic Christian monasteries such as St. Catherine’s. Egypt is not just about culture though – its Red Sea and Sinai coasts offer luxurious beach resorts and some world-class scuba diving.
