Sub-Saharan Africa

The variety of destinations for exploration is astounding. From amazing West African music festivals to watching lion on the endless plains of the Serengeti; the boundless expanse of the Kalahari Desert and the luxury of our opulent African private houses, there truly is something for everyone.

We do not pretend to know every country in sub-Saharan Africa from tip to toe but we spend huge amounts of time revisiting, researching and continually assessing the places we do know and finding the best guides and new locations. We travel throughout the continent - inland to the great wildlife areas, along the coast, reviewing different regions, habitats, concentration of animals, and variety of birds. We assess safari lodges and camps, their strengths, their drawbacks.

We know the best guides and the greatest adventures, and we are in close contact with the characters and tribal people of Africa. Wherever possible we use small, often exclusive owner-run hotels, lodges and camps and work with expert guides so that you will see the most interesting aspects of each country.

Original Thinking

Long the most popular continent for Original Travel clients, and for many years the very raison d’etre of Tim Best Travel, as a united team we dream of Africa.
