Dive Vatulele

The dive team at Vatulele is all local and there are no fewer than four divemasters and one instructor, making this an excellent place to learn to dive or retake your PADI course. All the gear is in excellent condition and the service is exceptional. Groups are very small - there are very rarely more than eight divers on board, the average is more like four.

All the current dive sites are opposite the resort on the ocean side of the protective barrier reef. The underwater topography is a mixture of some excellent sheer walls and a series of beautiful pinnacles and valleys. All the dives have their special feature, although if you are after what typifies diving in Fiji, the soft corals, then Table Top Pinnacle is a must dive. The Wreck is a Japanese fishing boat, sunk on purpose in 1997 and subsequently rearranged by two cyclones, it now sits in about 50 metres of water and is already encrusted with soft corals and fans.

At all the sites there is a profusion of marine life: pairs of butterfly fish, all manner of parrot fish, schools of fusiliers and red bass, multi coloured clams, enormous spotted cowries, hawksbill and green turtles, lionfish, green morays, large stingray, and all the usual aquarium of smaller life.

Another big plus of diving here is the good climate - unless a rare cyclone comes through, you will never lose any days to poor weather. Vatulele offers wonderful relaxed diving for people of all abilities, in perfect conditions and away from any crowds. You will not be disappointed.
